Two armed robberies leave two injured

By Nicholas Brown
Staff Writer

Police arrested two Massachusetts natives following reports of two armed robberies early on the morning of Sept. 15. Police made the arrests after a black sedan the pair were in ran out of gas off I-93 in Londonderry, following a pursuit that began on Hooksett Road around 2:30 a.m., police said.

Alicia Limoli, 27, of Malden, Mass., and Charles Galatis, 34, of Boston, were each arraigned on multiple charges at Hooksett District Court later that day.

According to court documents, Galatis is accused of brandishing an air gun in two separate robbery attempts. The first, said police, occurred at a parked car outside the Wal-Mart in the Granite State Marketplace. The other, police said, occurred no more than 10 minutes later at a private residence on Hunt Street, less than a mile away.

Galatis is also accused of causing bodily injury to two separate victims, allegedly striking one in the face with the muzzle of the air gun, according to court documents.

According to a police affidavit, as police pursued the suspects, several objects, including what appeared to be a black handgun, were seen coming out of the passenger side window. The vehicle then accelerated to more than 110 mph, the affidavit states.

Hooksett Police Sgt. Gary Gaskell said the alleged stolen property was thrown out the window, and is now being used as evidence, as investigations are pending.

Once the car ran out of gas, police said, state police arrived to assist with the arrests.

“The arrest went very well,” said Gaskell. “They surrendered pretty easily.”

Galatis faces charges including two counts of robbery, two counts of assault, burglary, two counts of reckless conduct, falsifying physical evidence and hindering apprehension.

Limoli, who police said was driving the car, faces two counts of conspiracy to commit robbery and disobeying an officer.

Both suspects will now face probable cause hearings on Friday, Sept. 23, and each have trial dates set for Friday, Sept. 30.
