Hooksett Old Home Day has family fun, fireworks

If you think you missed Hooksett Old Home Day, don't worry - it was moved from its traditional August date to Saturday, Sept. 17. The event will take place rain or shine at Donati Field, behind the old Hooksett Village School building on Main Street in the village.

The day kicks off at 7:30 a.m. with a breakfast at the American Legion Hall behind town hall. Breakfast is served until 10:30 a.m., and costs $5 for adults, $4.50 for senior citizens and $3 for children 7 and under.

Entertainment starts at 11 a.m., opening ceremonies are at noon, and the fun and games Fireworks will be set off at dusk.

The day's activities include:

Fun and games
Make It and Take It Models, 1 to 3 p.m.
Line dance lessons
Latin dance lessons
Hooksett Fire Smoke House
Yard sale 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Kiwanis kids' tent
Crafters and vendors
Mini-golf competition
Dunking booth
Bounce house
Crazy maze
Classic cars
Rock-climbing wall
Home-run Derby 10 a.m.

Entertainment Starting at 11 a.m.:
Dance demonstrations
Amoskeag Strummers
Granite State Cloggers
Karaoke/disc jockey
Police dog demonstration
Karate demonstrations
Hooksett Hurricane cheerleaders
FORGE (formerly known as Still Kickin.) - old-time rock and roll and country music
Kieran McNally Band 6 to 9 p.m.

Softball - Applebee's vs. Ninety-Nine Restaurant
Food
Breakfast - At the American Legion Hall, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m.
11 a.m. to 6 p.m. - Carnival fare: local clubs and vendors will sell hamburgers, hot sausage, pizza, Italian food, french fries and desserts.
Dinner - A ham and bean supper will be served at the Hooksett Congregational Church from 4 to 6 p.m.; $7 for adults, $4 for children under 12.
