Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium blasted JVL Construction, 9-1, in Manchester 40+ Hockey League action on Friday, Nov. 12. Bob Bechard led the Phaneuf offense with three goals, and Bob Ledbetter had a pair. Bob Sayer, Al Chouinard, Dan O’Leary and Guy Montminy also tallied for Phaneuf. The JVL tally came from Paul Kelley. Gerry Bergeron had 26 saves for Phaneuf. Rich Whelan managed 22 saves for JVL.

In the second game, Mike’s Auto Service outlasted LeClerc State Farm Insurance, 6-3. Ed Johansen had two goals for Mike’s. Also scoring were Dave Charland, Roger Lavoie, Ron Allard and Yvan Houde. Dave Chaput, Marc Pepin and Ken Larivee scored for LeClerc. Gerry Neveu had 18 stops for Mike’s. Dave Kingston had 23 for LeClerc.

JVL Construction won its first game of the season in five tries, dropping LeClerc State Farm Insurance, 4-2, on Nov. 26. Mike Gamache led the JVL attack with a pair of goals, with singletons coming from Paul Kelley and Dave Jack. Linc Chadwell chipped in two assists. Dave Chaput and Tom Berube had the goals for LeClerc. Rich Whelan had 21 saves for JVL, and Joe DiBrigida made 24 for LeClerc.

Phaneuf Funeral Homes & Crematorium maintained its hold on first place via a 7-4 win over Billy’s Sports Bar. Buddy Phaneuf and Bob Sayer led Phaneuf with two goals each. Dave Park, Bob Ledbetter and Bob Bechard also scored in the win. Bob Dumas had 23 saves for the winners. Billy’s Kevin Purdy had two goals, with the others coming from Dave Garrett and Steve Chabot. Mike Garrish had 27 saves for Billy’s.

Billy’s Sports Bar received two goals each from Steve Chabot, Kevin Purdy and Mario Leclerc as they rolled over Mike’s Auto Service, 8-5, on Dec. 3. Also scoring for Billy’s were Ray Desfosses and Rich Verrier. Chabot, Butch Greenwood and Dave Garrett each contributed two assists. Mike’s fell despite goals from Craig Moquin, Mike Larivee, Dave Charland, Ted Poulin and Eddie Johansen. Billy’s Bob Dumas and Mike’s Gerry Neveu each recorded 18 saves.

Bob Ledbetter, the league’s leading scorer, and Dan O’Leary each had two goals. Singletons were scored by Buddy Phaneuf, Bruce Courtney and Bob Petrin. Ken Larivee scored two goals and Tom Berube added another for LeClerc. Harvey McInnis and Dave Chaput assisted on each Larivee goal. Gerry Bergeron had 16 saves for Phaneuf, Dave Kingston made 29 for Mike’s.

Bob Ledbetter paced Phaneuf with two goals and an assist; Guy Montminy had a goal and two assists. Buddy Phaneuf added three goals, two into an empty net, and Bruce Courtney also tallied. Gerry Bergeron had 24 saves. Roger Lavoie, Ed Johansen and Mike Castagna scored for Mike’s. Bob Dumas had 19 saves.

JVL Construction defeated Billy’s Sports Bar 6-3 in the second game. JVL got goals from Steve Yabroudy, Doug Martin, Denis Vaillancourt, Dave Jack and Bryan Zorawowicz. Paul Kelley had two assists. Scoring for Billy’s were Dan Sullivan, Kevin Purdy and Marc Audet. Steve Meisel had two assists. JVL’s Rich Whelan and Billy’s Mike Garrish each had 23 saves.
