GHS meets some success

Goffstown High School's Taryn Murphy was called for a violation on her second long jump at the Class L Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 27. The junior's foot crossed the line prior to take-off, which resulted in a foul. Still, Murphy finished 10th overall with a leap of 16 feet. LONDONDERRY - The
Goffstown Grizzlies were well
represented at the 2005 Class L
Track and Field Championships
on Saturday, May 28, hosted by
Londonderry High School.
And it doesn't end for the
top performers, who'll compete
against the state's finest
at the Meet of Champions on
Saturday, June 2, at Salem High
School at noon.
While Londonderry won the
boys. team title and Bishop
Guertin took the girls. crown,
Goffstown was graced with
some fine individual performances.
Chris Morgan finished second
in the javelin throw with a
distance of 166 feet. His teammate
Jon Salerno was sixth at
155-01.
In the 400-meter dash, Kerri
Sullivan was fourth in 60.55.
Nicky Ouellet completed the
800-meter run in 2:23.02, good
for sixth place.
The GHS girls 4 X 400-meter
relay team finished 17th in
4:21.73.
Taryn Murphy took fifth in
the high jump with an effort of
5-feet 2 inches.
In the pole vault, Laureen
Ouellet was eighth at 16-04.25,
and teammate Murphy tied for
10th at 16 feet.
Molly Peach was 12th in the
triple jump at 31-10.75.
In the javelin, Krissy Johnson's
toss of 94-06 placed her 11th.
