Whether it is to commute to school, drive themselves to their jobs or simply go out with friends without having to hitch a ride with their parents, most local teens agree that getting their driver's license is a top priority when they turn 16.

What parents can do to help their newest drivers

Last year a teenage driver, who had been licensed for less than a month, lost control of her vehicle and smashed into our van, totaling both her parents. car and my van. Luckily, no one was seriously hurt. Motor vehicle accidents can happen to anyone, but for teens new to the road, the potential for an accident is much higher than for experienced drivers.

Goffstown High School's Taryn Murphy was called for a violation on her second long jump at the Class L Track and Field Championships on Saturday, May 27. The junior's foot crossed the line prior to take-off, which resulted in a foul. Still, Murphy finished 10th overall with a leap of 16 feet.
