Pembroke goalie Patrick Allen makes a pad save on a shot from John Stark’s Brett Haynes (No. 22). The Spartans’ Sean Leary is the only other PA player standing between Allen and the Generals’ Jacob Philibert (No. 66) and Jonathan Vogt (No. 10). The teams were tied at 1-1 entering the third period due to sometimes spectacular goalkeeping by Allen and his counterpart, John Stark’s Robbie Raczkowski. In the final period, the visitors from PA overcame two one-goal deficits to edge the hosts at Lee Clement Arena, 4-3. Peter Prendergast, Zintas Jones and Haynes scored for the Generals, now 1-5-0 in Division III. Ryan Balukas scored twice, and Court Lesieur and Ryan Lessard also tallied for the Spartans. Leary assisted on Lessard’s game-winning power play goal. Allen stopped 53 shots for the victors, who improved to 2-4-0 in the D-III standings. Raczkowski turned aside 24 Pembroke attempts.
