Filing deadline approaches
Those interested in filing for town and school district offices in most towns must do so between Wednesday, Jan. 19, and Friday, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m. Elections will take place Tuesday, March 8.
File for offices at the appropriate town clerk or school district clerk’s office.
The following offices are available:
Goffstown
Town positions
One selectman for a three-year term. Phil D’Avanza’s
term expires this year.
One selectman for a one-year term. The term is expiring for Gossett McRae, who
was appointed to the seat when
the late John Sarette left office.
Four three-year seats on the budget committee.
One cemetery trustee for a three-year term.
Three library trustees for three-year terms.
One library trustee for a one-year term.
Two planning board members for three-year terms.
One sewer commission member for a three-year term.
One town clerk for a three-year term.
One town treasurer for a three-year term.
One trustee of trust funds for a three-year term.
One trustee of trust funds for a one-year term.
School positions
The three school board seats belonging to Marie Morgan, Philip Pancoast and Sara Sarette are opening up this year. These positions carry three-year terms.
Weare
Town positions
One police chief for a three-year term. Voters decided that the police chief position should be an elected one in last March’s election.
Two selectmen for three-year term. The terms of Tom Reynolds and Douglas Cook are expiring.
One supervisor of the checklist, six-year term.
One library trustee for a three-year term.
One cemetery trustee for a three-year term.
One trustee of the trust funds for a three-year term.
Two seats on the board of fire wards, one three-year term for a member of the fire department, one three-year term for a non-member.
School positions
Two three-year seats on the Weare School Board are opening – those presently held by Michelle Josefiak and Hellen Dutton. A one-year seat, now held by Judy Lamont, is also opening.
Offices also up for election in Weare are school board moderator for three years, clerk for three years, and treasurer for three years.
On the John Stark School Board, two three-year school board member seats are open, currently held by Bill Johnson of Weare and Lisa Hustis of Henniker.
A one-term position for school district moderator is also open for the John Stark School Board.
New Boston
Town positions
One selectman for a three-year term.
One treasurer for a three-year term.
One cemetery trustee for a three-year term.
Two fire wards for thee-year terms.
Two library trustees for three-year terms.
One trustee of the trust funds for a three-year term.
School positions
In the New Boston School District, there are two school board seats open, those held by Diane Manson and Fred Hayes.
Also available for three-year terms are the offices of moderator, treasurer, clerk.
